Week Numero I

Well everyone, Week 1 is done. Check that off the calendar.

If I had to give this week a title. I'd give it the title of "The Week of Confusion: in the classroom and on the roads". We started the week off with meetings on Tuesday. That was our last little taste of BYU-Idaho. They told us what they expected of us and such. We met with our University Supervisor. She was a nice lady. The next day they switched her.. to another lady. I like the other lady too. No problem.

On Wednesday, we went to our school. We didn't know what or with who we would be teaching, but we went to breakfast and pretended to be teachers. I liked that a lot. I just love watching teachers interact.. and remembering that they are just normal people like me. Teachers are people too. Haha.We then went to a meeting. They introduced us and all the new teachers and announced abunch of stuff. One thing we found out is that the education budgets were cut in half. That's not such a good sign. We also learned (not at the meeting) that the Vegas run on hiring teachers.. has stopped.. eh. Judging from one week of Vegas driving.. I wouldn't really want to live here anyway.

I volunteered to work with the XC team, but the coach said they alread had too much help as it is.. bummer. I would've loved to do that. I then went to discover the school and meet the Spanish teacher. The first Spanish teacher I talked to, told me that I was probably going to be with him. So, I assumed he was right and went to work. Well, work is a relative term. We moved some stuff... he explained some stuff... and mostly I wondered what was going on. I actually asked a lot of questions.. and then I didn't know what else to ask. Mmm.. we will see. He's an older Mormon fellow.. and my principal described him as "dry". He's a good guy, and I'm excited to see him teaching. See if he's as dry then...

Oh, and Monday was FHE. It was fun. We played a huge dice game with practically everyone from the ward. Yep. Good times.

Thursday we met with the principal. I love the principal. She told us we didn't have our assignments yet. So we went home kindof early. That day I went to the temple. I met Jen and a couple of roommates. It was wonderful. I love the temple. The only problem was I got incredibly lost. Really really really lost. It was crazy. So, it took me a really really long time to get there. I made it though.

Friday we were assigned finally! We had breakfast all together again.. and then meetings. One of the staff gave a really good speech on priorities and convinced us all to watch the bucket list. I think I will. I'm excited about that actually. Good guy. I was assigned my English teacher, Ms. Muniz. She is ultra-organized and "hip". She's probably only a couple of years older than me.. and she knows what's up. I will be teaching 2 periods with her. I'll be teaching Modern Lit, which I will be reading "heart of darkness" for and then I will be teaching composition. That'll be cool. I'm going to teach them... expository essays I think. I don't exactly remember. We will see. I like her a lot. So, I'll be teaching 3 periods of Spanish I and then two periods of English. I am SO excited for the kids to get there on Monday. I came to work with the kids.

Oh, and the most exciting thing about yesterday was Michael Cammack. I picked him up and helped him in his ver well thought out plan of proposing to Cassie. Oh my goodness. So sweet! It made me incredibly happy! It ended up that Cassie and I were walking about the temple grounds.. and Michael was just siting there on a bench. It was SO cool and happy and joyous.

So, I like that temple place!

Today, I'm going swimming with Jen.. that's a new development.. and then I'm going to prepare for this English class! Wahoo! I'm pumped aobut it!

So, honestly this week was a little frustrating, but I know it's for my good! I don't know quite my place yet in the school and what to do etc.. but soon I will.. and I will be influencing little minds. THAT is going to be great.

I love you all!
